21 Calories | 1 smart point

A simple Home made Weight Watchers Ranch Dressing that is low in calories and points. It holds nothing back in flavour and creaminess!

This short and sweet post may be one of the most important culinary achievements I’ve ever had! Dramatic much?

Okay. Let me lay this out. When I first joined weight watchers and started to count my points, I was horrified to realise just how bad some of my daily staples were.  Salad dressings being one of the worst culprits of the point sucking baddies. I’m a diehard lover of large leafy salads with a serious ranch dressing habit. I knew I had to figure out how to make a healthy version. But one that also was just as to die for as the store bought stuff.

Believe me when I tell you, there were spice combos and herb selections aplenty. Trying to get that elusive tangy but savoury taste was not easy. I finally cracked the code of a weight watchers ranch dressing that holds nothing back when it comes to flavour and creaminess.

When I joined WW and started to keep track of points I realised that things that I thought were good for me were not necessarily so. It’s a minefield out there when it comes to nutrition advice and info. Got me thinking that clearly a calorie is not a calorie. And so not all smart points will be created equal either. Like 200 calories from fries will not be the same as 200 calories from lean chicken or avocado. So even though I’m counting my points, I’ve been on a journey to learn more nutrition. And about how I can get the most out of those 30 points a day. Okay… maybe a couple more if I go for a run!

I’ve learned a lot about nutrition lately and I keep learning more everyday. So, I thought it would be a great idea to team up with my friend Louise. She’s a registered dietitian.  We created a 10 day meal plan to get us all eating healthier and feeling more empowered around the choices we make. So, I’m really excited to announce that our Fast and Fresh 10 Day Healthy Eating Kickstarter will be released in early May. If you’d like to know more about when it’s going to be released you can stay up to date here- Fast and Fresh. We’d love to have you join us! In the meantime, take heart to know that you can now keep tossing those salads with your favourite guilt free ranch dressing!
