    This 2 ingredient vegan caramel sauce is sweet and creamy and full of healthy ingredients. It's easy to make, absolutely delicious drizzled on everything and is perfect with chocolate.

    This vegan caramel sauce is only 2 ingredients and is completely sugar-free. It's made with dates and hot water and uses nothing but a food processor.

    How do you make vegan caramel sauce step by step

    1. Measure out your dates.
    2. Pour boiling water over your dates and leave to soak for 5 minutes.
    3. Blend the dates and add a pinch of salt.
    4. Place the caramel sauce in an airtight container or jar.

    Ingredients

    • 200 g (1 cup) dates
    • pinch salt
    • 250 (1 cup) boiling water

    Instructions

    • Place the dates in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the blade attachment. Slowly trickle in the boiling water while blending. Add enough water to reach the desired consistency. Mix in salt. Use right away or store in an airtight jar for about a week.

      That's scrumptious, well I have a query for that, I am facing Anemia (deficiency of iron) so is this recipe contains iron ??

        Thanks Gaurav. Dates do have iron in them, but you would need to eat quite a few to have that iron be of any benefit to you. And when you start to consume dates in high quantity, you're adding a lot of natural sugars to your diet which may counteract the benefit of the dates themselves. Hope that helps.

      This looks fabulous, Debs!! I didn't know you could make caramel from dates. I'll have to keep this in mind if I'm ever looking for a vegan substitute.
